Shooting in Sterling Remains Under Investigation

A little before 6 p.m. Tuesday, July 23rd, Sterling police were informed about a shooting near the intersection of 13th Avenue and East 5th Street, by Sterling First Church of the Nazarene.

First responders found two men who were shot. Police say they were passengers in a vehicle that was shot at resulting in that vehicle hitting a high line pole.

Both of the victims were taken to CGH Medical Center and then to OSF Peoria. No information on their conditions are available at this time.

This is believed to be an isolated incident and there is no perceived threat to the public. Police have announced no arrests. The incident remains under investigation.
