On Tuesday, September 17th, at approximately 10:24pm Rock Falls Police responded to a report of shots fired in the area of 1700 14th Avenue, Rock Falls. When officers arrived, they located a male, deceased, in the 1300 block of West 17th Street. The victim has been identified as Jasen M. Bell, age 42, of Rock Falls IL. A homicide investigation is underway. An autopsy was conducted on September 18th.

Investigators from the Rock Falls Police Department, along with the Sterling Police Department, Whiteside County Sheriff’s Office, and Illinois State Police are following up on leads.
