Sinnissippi Centers will be going through a transition in leadership in the coming days and weeks. Current President/CEO Patrick Phelan will depart the agency on September 1st and current VP/Chief Operating Officer Stacie Kemp will serve as interim CEO during a search process to find a new President/Chief Executive Officer.
Phelan informed employees, leadership, and the board of directors of his decision saying, “This was the most challenging decision of my life, as I have such a wonderful job here at Sinnissippi, a fantastic team, and we have so many exciting things going on. I love my job and the people who make it so easy. This was a difficult decision to make, but ultimately, I made it with my family foremost in my mind”.
While Phelan’s last full day at Sinnissippi will be September 1st, 2023, he adds, “I will have a contractual relationship with Sinnissippi Centers after September 1st throughout the recruitment process and during the onboarding of a replacement,” says Phelan. “All of our staff are playing a role in this process. Each and every one of our employees have contributed to the success of Sinnissippi over our 57-year history, and while the selection of a new President/CEO is important, even more important is our team of employees, supervisors, managers, and board members.
Phelan says, “I know I will be leaving the organization in the very capable hands of our excellent staff, leadership, and board members, and they will ensure that the agency will have quality, competent leadership to take us into the next 10 years and beyond.”
Sinnissippi is naming present VP/Chief Operating Officer Stacie Kemp as Interim CEO beginning on September 1st through the start date of a permanent replacement. Sinnissippi has engaged a consulting firm with expertise in behavioral health leadership recruiting who will work with the board of directors and Sinnissippi administration to search for a new President/CEO. All staff were invited to attend two meetings to provide their input on where the agency is headed and what the board and recruiting firm should be looking for in a new CEO.
