The Illinois Department of Transportation is warning of heavy traffic across the state, especially in southern Illinois, when a total solar eclipse takes place, Monday, April 8th. While many will be able to see a partial version of the eclipse in the northern part of the state, thousands are expected to travel downstate and chase the eclipse path. The agency said crowds of up to 200,000 are expected to travel to the prime viewing areas in southern Illinois.
