The Lee County Highway Department has announced that spring postings for county highways went into effect on February 18th. These seasonal restrictions set limits on maximum gross weights for various vehicle types to protect roadways during the thaw season.
For example, vehicles with two axles and single rear tires are capped at 8,000 pounds, while dual rear tires on two axles can carry up to 18,000 pounds. Three or more axles with dual rear tires may haul up to 33,000 pounds. For questions or permit information:
