    IMPACTS
    The dangerously cold wind chills as low as 30 below zero could cause frostbite on exposed skin in as little as 30 minutes. Frostbite and hypothermia will occur if unprotected skin is exposed to these temperatures.
    PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS
    Wear appropriate clothing, a hat, and gloves. Keep pets indoors as much as possible. Make frequent checks on older family, friends, and neighbors. Ensure portable heaters are used correctly. Do not use generators or grills inside.

State Police Investigation Leads to Arrest for Homicide

Illinois State Police (ISP) Division of Criminal Investigations Zone 2 officials announce the arrest of 23-year-old Saidrick Thomas of Savanna, IL for Drug Induced Homicide (Class X Felony) and Unlawful Delivery of a Controlled Substance (Class 2 Felony).

On March 2nd, 2022 the Thomson Police Department requested ISP to lead a death investigation involving an alleged drug overdose of 28-year-old Amy LaShelle of Thomson, IL. As a result of the investigation, on February 7th, 2024, the Carroll County State’s Attorney’s Office approved the above-mentioned charges for Thomas. Thomas is currently being held in the Iowa Department of Corrections on unrelated charges.

All persons are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
