The Sterling City Council session Monday proved fruitful as members approved over $177,000 for engineering work at the Lawrence Brothers property. Noteworthy developments included a new driveway and additional parking spaces. City Manager Scott Shumard also addressed the need to adjust the tax levy estimate to align with truth and taxation regulations.
A major highlight was Mayor Diana Merdian’s announcement that the city’s application for the Safe Streets for All grant was successful. This $320,000 grant, supplemented with an $80,000 local match, will significantly enhance local transportation by extending bike paths and updating traffic signs following a comprehensive city intersections inventory.
