Sterling Man Arrested on Multiple Charges

On Tuesday, November 19th, Sterling Police arrested 20-year-old Justin Simmer during a warrant check at a residence on 5th Avenue. Authorities detained Simmer on multiple charges including armed violence and illegal possession of a short-barreled shotgun, possession of a firearm and ammunition without a Foid Card and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

Additional allegations against him include possession of methamphetamine, owning a firearm and ammunition without the necessary FOID card, and having drug paraphernalia. Following his arrest, Simmer was transported to the Whiteside County Jail, pending further legal proceedings.

Simmer is considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
