A tragic incident unfolded at a multi-unit apartment complex on Freeport Road. Sterling Police responded to reports of a gunshot victim early Wednesday. Upon arrival, officers discovered an adult male with a fatal gunshot wound.
Despite immediate efforts by officers and CGH Paramedics, the individual was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Preliminary investigations by the Sterling Police Detective Unit suggest the gunshot wound was self-inflicted, marking this as an isolated incident. There were no other injuries or property damage reported. The identity of the deceased is withheld pending family notification.
