Sterling Man Gets 8 Years

A Sterling man will spend eight years behind bars after pleading guilty to multiple charges, including setting a Galt home on fire last October. Authorities say Rodney Swan, 26, used gasoline to ignite the blaze that hospitalized two people and left three suffering from smoke inhalation.

Evidence included surveillance footage from a gas station and the discovery of a matching gas can near the scene. Investigators confirmed the fire was intentionally set, following a dispute between Swan and a resident of the home. Swan also received sentences in three other cases, all to be served at the same time as his arson conviction.
