Eric J. Blackhawk, a 41-year-old Sterling resident, was recently arrested at the Whiteside County Courthouse where he was scheduled for a hearing related to multiple drug and weapons charges.

This latest arrest follows a new indictment by a statewide grand jury on two counts of cocaine delivery, both considered Class 1 felonies. The charges, stemming from incidents on May 28th and June 5th, 2024, were brought after investigations by the Illinois State Police’s Blackhawk Area Task Force into narcotics sales in the area.

Blackhawk, with a significant criminal record including a prior 14-year prison sentence for similar offenses, remains under strict pre-trial conditions as he faces an upcoming jury trial scheduled for February 11th, 2025. His next court appearances are set for February 19th and 21st, to address both old and new charges.
