Sterling Man Suspect in Shooting Incident

In Sterling, authorities have arrested 43-year-old Paul S. Cobane, linking him to a shooting incident that occurred last Monday night, October 7th. Following reports of gunfire, police found a vehicle and a home on the 1200 block of Fourth Avenue damaged by bullets. Thankfully, no injuries have been reported.

Cobane faces charges for aggravated discharge of a firearm and possession of a small amount of methamphetamine. Multiple agencies, including the Whiteside County Sheriff’s Department and the Illinois State Police, assisted at the scene. Sterling Police urge anyone with information or video footage to come forward to assist with the investigation.
