Sterling Police Make Fugitive Arrest

Sterling Police have apprehended Baylee J. Gipson, 25, during a warrant check at W. 9th and Ash Ave. Known for a Whiteside County warrant related to trespassing, Gipson is now facing serious charges, including resisting a peace officer and armed violence.

The accusations extend to unlawful possession of a weapon by a felon, possession of cannabis with intent to manufacture, deliver, and controlled substances. Furthermore, Gipson is charged with firearm and ammunition possession without a valid FOID card. These complications are compounded by an additional Ogle County warrant. The investigation continues.

Gipson was transported to The Whiteside County Jail and is considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
