    Very cold wind chills as low as 20 to 30 below.

    Portions of north central and northwest Illinois and east central and southeast Iowa.

    IMPACTS
    The dangerously cold wind chills could cause frostbite on exposed skin in 30 minutes or less. Frostbite and hypothermia will occur if unprotected skin is exposed to these temperatures.
    PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS
    Wear appropriate clothing, a hat, and gloves. Keep pets indoors as much as possible. Make frequent checks on older family, friends, and neighbors. Ensure portable heaters are used correctly. Do not use generators or grills inside.

Sterling-Rock Falls Jaycees Fireworks

Rock Falls Tourism will kick off the 4th of July weekend with the Independence Day Celebration Eats ‘N’ Beats @ The District on Wednesday, July 3rd, at the RB&W Park (201 E. 2nd Street, Rock Falls). The festivities begin at 4 pm with a wide variety of food vendors, as well as business/craft vendors.

There will be a free concert from 6 pm to 9 pm with the 3 Day Rain Band performing at the amphitheater stage. 3 Day Rain is a 5-piece Country/Rock band who are ready to bring in the 4th of July with you! The Sterling-Rock Falls Jaycees Fireworks will begin at dusk. The Sterling-Rock Falls Jaycees will be collecting donations at the RB&W District. There is plenty of room at the RB&W District to find a spot and watch the fireworks.
