From 8am til Noon of Thursday community members showed up at The Sterling Police Department for an amazing program. The contribution of school supplies will benefit many kids in need this fall, through The Regional Office of Education. Located at 2214 E. 4th Street, Suite B Sterling, acts as an advocate for education by providing positive leadership, and disseminating information for education, school districts, and the community, serving Lee, Ogle and Whiteside counties.
The supplies donated will be available thru Grandma Bonnie’s School Supply Closet. Grandma Bonnie was at the donation drive and shared more information about ROE 47 and her passion to help kids in the area.
Sterling Mayor Dianna works closely as well with ROE 47 and had these comments.
And Sterling’s favorite meteorologist, Andrew Stutzke from WQAD was helping out as well, not only with stocking the squad and meeting people, He also was broadcasting the weather live. Andrew had this to say about his participation.
