On Wednesday, October 2nd Sterling Police apprehended 48-year-old Alan G. Marshall on charges of residential arson, arson, aggravated arson, aggravated domestic battery, and unlawful restraint. The arrest occurred after authorities responded to a domestic battery report on September 25th, at a residence on West 5th Street, where Marshall allegedly fled from officers and barricaded himself. Subsequently, he set the room on fire, endangering everyone inside. Fortunately, police were able to evacuate the building and arrest Marshall shortly after he left the burning premises.
