Sauk Valley Area Chamber of Commerce will host an informational session on theIllinois Secure Choice retirement savings program, presented by Edward Jones representatives on Tuesday, May 9th. The session will begin at 11:45 a.m. at Brandywine Banquet, 441 IL Rt 2, Dixon. Registration is required by May 5th.
Join Edward Jones representatives Mike Loos, Tom Gleissner, and Nick Lareau, to learn more about the state mandated retirement program and options available to employers. Per State law, employers with 5 or more Illinois employees that have been in business for at least 2 years and that do not offer a tax-qualified retirement plan are required to register for and facilitate Illinois Secure Choice.
Penalties will be issued for non-compliance starting at $250 per eligible employee for the initial year, increasing to $500 per eligible employee the following years as needed. Businesses must register for Illinois Secure Choice by November 1st, 2023. This workshop will explain the details of Illinois Secure Choice and explore options for employers to offer an alternative retirement plan.
