As warmer weather returns and more residents spend time outdoors, the Whiteside County Sheriff’s Office reminds citizens that seasonal changes often bring a rise in criminal activity and trafficrelated incidents

In response, the Sheriff’s Office is increasing staffing levels and deploying additional patrol units throughout the county, with an emphasis on both crime prevention and traffic enforcement. These proactive measures aim to ensure the safety and wellbeing of all who live in and travel through Whiteside County

“Our goal is to stay ahead of seasonal trends and keep our communities safe, said Sheriff John F. Booker, Sheriff of Whiteside County. We are committed to working closely with our residents to make Whiteside County a safer place for everyone.”

Residents are encouraged to stay alert and watch out for one another. If you see something, say something. Please remember to lock your vehicles and secure your homes to reduce the risk of becoming a victim of crime

Additionally, with school out for the summer, parents are urged to speak with their children about roadway safety. More children will be walking, biking, and playing near streets and intersections. Drivers are reminded to slow down and stay alertespecially in residential areas

Together, through increased law enforcement presence and strong community partnerships, we can all contribute to a safer summer season in Whiteside County
