In a significant development in Peoria County, 22-year-old Gary Irby was found guilty by a jury of First Degree Murder in the 2021 shooting death of 17-year-old Jerry Snipes Jr. The decision came after a three-day trial, with the jury deliberating for about an hour. The incident, which occurred in October 2021, involved Irby and another convicted individual, Jeremy Moore Jr., who has already been sentenced to 80 years. Evidence, including GPS data, surveillance footage, and witness accounts, confirmed both were present during the crime, each armed. Irby now faces a potential life sentence, with formal sentencing scheduled for August 2. Tyranique White, also linked to the case, awaits her next court appearance.
