Semi Truck Closes Highway 78 on Messmore Hill Friday Morning

SHARE NOW

The case of the u-turn semi-truck remains a mystery. The Henry County Sheriff’s Office said they received a call about the semi-truck blocking the highway but the tractor trailer had completed its u-turn and drove away prior to the deputy arriving in the area.  There were no accidents as a result of the truck blocking the road.

The semi-truck that appeared to be “jack-knifed” north of Kewanee on Messmore Hill on Friday morning was possibly turning around.  Pictures of the Semi-truck blocking both lanes of traffic this morning in rural Kewanee are the big topic on Facebook this morning.  Traffic was temporarily blocked on Highway 78 after a semi-truck was attempting to turn around, according to Scanner traffic.  The road reopened shortly after the incident.  We have reached out to the Henry County Sheriff’s Office for more information.
