Andalusia, IL – State Senator Neil Anderson (R-Andalusia) has released the following statement regarding the sentencing of former House Speaker Michael Madigan:
“Michael Madigan was the kingpin of Illinois corruption. A political mob boss who used power to enrich himself and his allies. His conviction is justice served, but it’s not enough.
“This wasn’t just one bad actor. It was a rigged system that protected him for decades. That machine is still running, and the same insiders are still cashing in.
“Illinoisans are fed up. So am I. Republicans have filed tough ethics reform packages time and again, only to be blocked without even a hearing. Enough is enough. Bring us to the table and let’s get serious about rooting out corruption.”
