The Illinois Department of Children and Family Services is set to enhance support for new and expectant mothers thanks to a generous contribution from Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. The sorority’s Project Cradle Care-Bottles for Babies initiative has resulted in a donation of $9,200 alongside hundreds of essential childcare items. These contributions will directly benefit families across the state. Director Heidi E. Mueller expressed heartfelt appreciation for the substantial support, underscoring the positive impact it will have on numerous communities as they nurture their newest members. This remarkable act of generosity truly exemplifies community spirit and outreach.
“I cannot thank Sigma Gamma Rho and their membership enough for thinking of DCFS when it came time to choose a recipient of their fundraising efforts this year,” said Illinois DCFS Director Heidi E. Mueller. “Diapers, wipes and all the gear babies need are expensive, and this generous donation will immediately impact the lives of new and expectant mothers across Illinois and help the youngest children in our care get off to the best start possible.”
