Silvis Man Charged with Possession and Dissemination of Child Pornography

A Silvis man is in jail for Possession and Dissemination of Child Pornography following an investigation by the Illinois State Police (ISP) on February 21, 2024.  Robert Azbell, 38, was transported to the Rock Island County Jail and charged with eight counts of Dissemination of Child Pornography (Class X Felony).  ISP agents executed a search warrant at a residence in the 800 block of 11th Street in Silvis on February 21st.  Agents gathered evidence of child pornography during the search and placed Azbell in custody.  The State’s Petition to deny pretrial release was granted on February 23rd.  Azbell will remain detained until trial.  A Preliminary Hearing is scheduled for March 12, 2024, at 8:30 AM.  No additional information will be disseminated.
