Six Kewanee Students Selected Among the Best Musicians in the State of Illinois

Six Kewanee students have been selected from more than 10,000 students statewide to be part of Illinois Music Education Association All State Student Program. William Ly, Willow Marshall, Isaac Lynes, Alex Hager, Laryn Conley, and Cooper Bates earned the honors for the 2023-24 All State Program. Ly and Marshall, under the instruction of Alex Binek and Brittany Krohn, were selected to participate in the All State Band. They are two of 364 students statewide selected for the band that will be performing at a special concert in January at the Illinois Music Educators Conference. Lynes, Hager, Conley, and Bates, under the instruction of Katie Yelm, were selected to be part of the All State Honors Choir. They are four among 288 students statewide selected for the Honors Choir and they will also be part of the January concert for the ILMEA. The concert is set to take place on January 27th in Peoria, Illinois. More than 12,000 students, educators and parents will gather for the concert at the Peoria Civic Center with distinguished conductors and educators from around the country coming to lead the State Ensembles. Congratulations to these remarkable students.
