MACOMB/CANTON, IL – Spoon River College Community Outreach has announced that they will be offering Leadership workshops in both Canton and Macomb this Spring. Students are invited to engage in informative presentations, roundtable discussions, and relevant scenarios for maximum individual and group learning to enhance skills and build confidence with sessions including Effective Communication, Time Management, Problem-Solving and Critical Thinking, and Customer Service. Participants can sign up for all four workshops or pick and choose the topics that will benefit them.
Effective Communication (Tuesday, February 20th from 3:30-5:30pm in Canton; Tuesday, April 9th from 3:30-5:30pm in Macomb): Learn the importance of clear communication! Discover the nuances of nonverbal communication, communicating digitally, and communicating across multiple generations. Present your best self to others! Instructor is Andrea Barbknecht.
Time Management (Tuesday, February 27th from 3:30-5:30pm in Canton; Tuesday, April 16th from 3:30-5:30pm in Macomb): Looking for ways to stay on top of things? Learn effective tips for organizing your day and utilizing your time for the things that are both urgent and important, and how to know when to delegate. Become a leader who leads with influence and impact. Instructor is Rick Klinedinst.
Problem-Solving and Critical Thinking (Tuesday, March 5th from 3:30-5:30pm in Canton; Tuesday, April 23rd from 3:30-5:30pm in Macomb): Utilize your skills and become a better problem solver! Learn how to think strategically and engage others to solve problems and form creative solutions to business problems. Become the “go-to” person in your organization! Instructor is Mitch Coonradt.
Customer Service (Tuesday, March 12th from 3:30-5:30pm in Canton; Tuesday, April 30th from 3:30-5:30pm in Macomb): Working with others can be a breeze! Learn how to anticipate and meet customer needs, create a positive work atmosphere, and to work collaboratively to meet goals. Instructor is Carla Bobell.
