In an early morning blaze, the Galesburg Fire Department responded to a structure fire at 1011 E. Brooks Street on Sunday, April 14, 2024. The vigorous response included all three stations and the 11 personnel on duty. Upon their arrival, the crew faced heavy smoke and flames, yet bravely extinguished the fire and ensured no human or pet lives were lost. The structure, sadly, is considered a total loss. Fire Investigators have determined the fire was intentionally set.
