    IMPACTS
    Roads, and especially bridges and overpasses, will likely become slick and hazardous. Plan on slippery road conditions. The hazardous conditions could impact the evening commute.

In Illinois, the latest road conditions are available at gettingaroundillinois.com. Be prepared for slippery roads. Slow down and use caution while driving. If you are going outside, watch your first few steps taken on stairs, sidewalks, and driveways. These surfaces could be icy and slippery, increasing your risk of a fall and injury.

Support Families in Need with Diaper and Baby Item Drive in Kewanee and Atkinson

Residents of Atkinson and Kewanee have the opportunity to support families in need by contributing to a community diaper and baby item drive through the end of September. The Parents as Teachers ROE #28 is seeking gently used maternity wear, baby clothing, and cribs and swings, as well as new diapers and wipes. Donations can be dropped off at either office location through the end of September. This initiative aims to ease the burden on parents by ensuring children have essential supplies. Anyone interested in donating or needing more information is encouraged to call 309-936-7890. Community members are urged to participate and make a positive impact.

Offices are located at 107 S State Street in Atkinson or behind Jesse’s Closet at 315 N Main Street in Kewanee.
