Suspect from Stolen Vehicle/Abduction in Peoria has Been Captured in Iowa

Victor E Farris, 45, of Ohio, was apprehended around 10 AM on Monday, September 16, 2024, in Monroe County, Iowa.  A train conductor witnessed a male subject jump off the train and fled when confronted.  A Monroe County Sheriff’s Office Deputy located Farris in an alleyway.  Farris initially gave the deputy a false name but was eventually identified as Victor Farris and placed under arrest.  Farris is going through the extradition process and will be transported to the Peoria County Jail on the warrant issued for his arrest.  The Peoria County Sheriff’s Office thanked the public for their help and patience.

The Peoria County Sheriff’s Office searched the area of Lakeshore Drive, Slane Road, and Akron Road, southeast of Princeville, for a man suspected of stealing a vehicle with a 3-year-old child in the back seat on Wednesday, September 4th. The child was unharmed.
