SVACC Holds 6th Annual Manufacturing Dinner and Celebration

On Thursday evening, the Sauk Valley Area Chamber hosted its 6th annual Manufacturing Dinner at the community college in Dixon, drawing over 190 attendees. This significant event celebrated the manufacturing sector’s contributions to the local economy and its crucial role in job creation. The dinner also served as a fundraiser, gathering resources to provide scholarships for students keen on manufacturing careers.

The night was filled with meaningful discussions and networking, focusing on strengthening workforce development initiatives. Updates were shared by representatives from various educational institutions, including Whiteside Area Career Center and Northern Illinois University, highlighting progress and collaborative efforts in nurturing talent.

The evening also saw the 2023-2024 scholarship recipients being introduced, who played a part in the event’s dessert auction, contributing to the fundraising efforts. Pam Fluck, President of the SVACC Board, expressed gratitude towards the community’s robust manufacturing sector, emphasizing its role in not only supporting the economy but also in shaping future professionals.
