A Toulon man faces multiple charges after an investigation by local authorities. Police responded in August to reports of a violation of an order of protection involving a threatening call to the victim. The caller, identified as Alex R. Nowlan, 33, was initially released with electronic GPS monitoring per the SAFE-T Act. However, a forensic examination of seized devices uncovered suspected child pornography, prompting an arrest warrant. Nowlan was apprehended after a short pursuit on September 6 and transported to the Bureau County Jail. He is currently being held at the Bureau County Jail. At a September 8th hearing, Nowlan’s pre-trial release was revoked following a successful petition by Special Prosecutor Patrick Murphy.

Anyone with information regarding the investigation is asked to contact the Toulon Police Department at 309-286-0066 or [email protected].
