    Very cold wind chills as low as 20 to 30 below expected.
    WHERE
    Portions of north central and northwest Illinois and east central and southeast Iowa.
    WHEN
    From 3 AM to noon CST Monday.
    IMPACTS
    The dangerously cold wind chills could cause frostbite on exposed skin in 30 minutes or less. Frostbite and hypothermia will occur if unprotected skin is exposed to these temperatures.
    PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS
    Use caution while traveling outside. Wear appropriate clothing, a hat, and gloves. Keep pets indoors as much as possible. Make frequent checks on older family, friends, and neighbors. Ensure portable heaters are used correctly. Do not use generators or grills inside.

Travis Weaver Partners with Kewanee High School FFA for Winter Clothing Drive on January 28, 2026

Representative Travis Weaver has announced a partnership with Kewanee High School FFA for a special Winter Clothing Drive. Community members are encouraged to donate new or gently used winter apparel suitable for high school students, such as hoodies, coats, hats, gloves, sweatpants, leggings, and boots. Donations can be brought to Representative Weaver’s Kewanee Office, located inside the train station on West 3rd Street, on Wednesday, January 28th, from 8 AM to 4 PM. The collected items will be distributed to students in need. “Thank you to the KHS FFA for their help with this clothing drive, and please consider donating items that will be distributed to students in need!”
