A 16-year-old is Charged as an Adult with the First Degree Murder of Clifton Parks

A 16-year-old male has been charged as an adult with First Degree Murder for the stabbing death of 38-year-old Clifton Parks in Kewanee on Saturday night.  Jeremy S Colombani, 16, of Kewanee was charged with murder on Tuesday morning at the Henry County Courthouse in Cambridge.  We are awaiting a new Press Release with the location that Colombani will remain in custody and bond information.  Colombani is charged with two (2) counts of First Degree Murder (Class M Felony), Aggravated Battery/Great Bodily Harm (Class 3 Felony), Obstructing Justice/Destroy Evidence (Class 4 Felony) and Mob Action (Class 4 Felony).  Jeremy, along with a 14-year-old male, were arrested and charged with the murder of Clifton Parks on Saturday, they were transported to the Mary Davis Juvenile Detention Center in Galesburg early Sunday Morning.  Jeremy Colombani waived his Preliminary Hearing and Formal Arraignment on Tuesday morning and has a Jury Pre-Trial scheduled for May 11, 2023, at 9 AM.  UPDATE:  Colombani will remain in custody of the Mary Davis Juvenile Detention Center on a $500,000 (10%) bond.

The 14-year-old male was charged in Juvenile court with two (2) counts of First Degree Murder, Aggravated Battery and Mob Action.  He remains in custody of the Mary Davis Juvenile Detention Center in Galesburg.

Justin Kentner, 34, of Kewanee is in custody on a $50,000 (10%) bond in connection to the stabbing of Clifton Parks.  Kentner is charged with Aggravated Battery/Public Place (Class 3 Felony) and Obstructing Justice/Destroy Evidence (Class 4 Felony).  A Preliminary Hearing is scheduled for April 10, 2023, at 2 PM.  Andrea Peach, 35, of Kewanee was issued a Notice to Appear for Obstructing Justice and given a court date on May 22, 2023, at 1 PM.

Around 9:24 PM on Saturday, Kewanee Police responded to a disturbance in the area of Hope Way and North Lakeview Street in Fairview Homes.  According to Kewanee Police, Officers arrived at the scene to find Clifton Parks, 38, on the ground suffering from stab wounds to the chest and abdomen.  The first Kewanee Police Officer on scene immediately began CPR until Paramedics from the Kewanee Fire Department arrived and began emergency medical care.  The victim was transported to OSF Saint Luke’s Medical Center where he was later pronounced dead.  Two juveniles and two adults were charged in connection with the fatal stabbing.
