The Prairie Chicken Arts Festival celebrated the 10th Anniversary for Murals in Kewanee with a “Murals Come to Life” play by Central School and Kewanee High School Students from the Kewanee Summer Theatre Camp.  Watch “Murals Come to Life” here.  There were 132 entries to the Amateur Art Show and 54 entries for the Chalk Art competition.  Chainsaw Carving by Tim Bryner was added this year.  The weather was great this year for the Kewanee Police and Fire Departments “Guns-n-Hoses” pancake breakfast, dunk tank and smoke house.  The giant sand pile was full of kids and there was a line for a ride in the Antique Firetruck.  In celebration of the 10th Anniversary, all schools that participated in the window artwork display received $100.  Because Steve Faber is a devoted volunteer to the Prairie Chicken Arts Festival, canister were used to collect donations to help with expenses from a double lung transplant.  Follow the Prairie Chicken Arts Festival on Facebook for more information.  The Prairie Chicken Festival committee thanks everyone for making the event possible.
