This week is Agricultural Safety Awareness Week for Farm Bureau’s across the nation and the theme this year is “Lead the Way in Agriculture”. March 6th through 10th has been designated Agricultural Safety Awareness Week and the Farm Bureau is sharing resources to help keep safety top-of-mind for farmers through the Agricultural Safety Awareness Program. Agricultural Safety and Health Centers will join the Farm Bureau in promoting the week with its theme “Lead the Way in Agriculture”. A different safety focus will be highlighted by the Farm Bureau and U.S. Ag Centers each day of the week: Monday, March 6 – Mental Health; Tuesday, March 7 – Preventive Health Care; Wednesday, March 8 – Safety Culture; Thursday, March 9 – Situational Awareness; Friday, March 10 –Temperature-Related Safety.
“Keeping everyone safe on America’s farms and ranches is so important,” said American Farm Bureau Federation President Zippy Duvall. “We encourage farmers and ranchers to take the time to make safety a priority during Agricultural Safety Awareness Program Week and throughout the year.”
The Agricultural Safety Awareness Program is a part of the Farm Bureau Health and Safety Network of professionals who share an interest in identifying and decreasing safety and health risks. For more information and resources, visit the ASAP Facebook page.
