More than a dozen Black Hawk College (BHC) employees were recognized for their work during Manufacturing Day at the October 27th Black Hawk College Board of Trustees meeting. The employees were awarded the Black Hawk College Coins of Excellence. On October 6th, Black Hawk College and Representative Travis Weaver hosted the first-time Manufacturing Day for high school students around the area. More than 30 students from Annawan, Galva and Kewanee High Schools attended the event at the BHC Welding and Skilled Trades Center in Kewanee. The day started with a tour of Martin Engineering in Neponset, followed by interactive sessions at the Welding and Skilled Trades Center.
The BHC Coins of Excellence program “was created to recognize individuals who have demonstrated a superior level of excellence in service, dedication, achievement, performance and/or accomplishment for or on behalf of Black Hawk College,” said Fritz Larsen, BHC board chair.
