On Friday, April 29th, Black Hawk College announced their new President. Dr. Jeremy Thomas has been selected to replace the soon to retire Black Hawk College President J.D Wynes. Wynes’ retirement becomes official in June. “Dr. Thomas has an impressive leadership background in higher education within a multi-campus environment with demonstrated results of growing enrollment, strengthening academic programs and nurturing strategic partnerships,” said Fritz Larsen, chair of the Board of Trustees.
“We’re excited to welcome Dr. Thomas to Black Hawk College and to the area,” Larsen said.
Regarding his appointment, Dr. Thomas said, “I am excited and honored to join the Black Hawk family. The college has a rich history with tremendous potential. I appreciate the board’s confidence in choosing me to lead the institution.”
Dr. Thomas brings 24 years of experience in education as an instructor and administrator. Mostly recently, Dr. Thomas was the Provost at Oklahoma City Community College. Dr. Thomas’ tenure begins on Monday, June 12th.
