BNSF Railroad has informed the City of Kewanee that they will be closing the East Street Viaduct for three days. The closure is intended for BNSF Railroad to make needed repairs to the Viaduct Railroad Bridge. Specifically, BNSF Railroad will be replacing a support beam. BNSF Railroad will be placing signs advising drivers to avoid the area as work is conducted. Work is expected to start on Tuesday, September 5th and be completed on Thursday, September 7th barring any unforeseen issues.
