SHARE NOW

The excitement is building for the very first Buddy Walk Kewanee, a National Walk to honor and celebrate those with Down Syndrome. Organizers have worked for months to bring the walk together and have gathered numerous sponsors for the event which will shine a positive light for families of those with Down Syndrome by showing community support. The event will run from 9 AM until 1 PM. You can walk part of the time, the whole time, or just drop by and make a donation to support the Buddy Walk. There will be a raffle at 12 Noon and major sports teams have joined the cause with items donated by the Chicago Cubs, the Chicago White Sox, the Chicago Bulls, and the Chicago Bears. Oh, and the St Louis Cardinals as well. All of the proceeds raised in the raffle and all of the fundraising will support the Buddy Walk in efforts to support families of individuals with Down Syndrome. The raffle at Noon will feature not just sports donations but many basket donations and other items donated by local Kewanee businesses who have pledged their support for Buddy Walk Kewanee. Find out more about Buddy Walk on the Buddy Walk Kewanee Facebook page which has been a terrific rallying point for the event in its first year. October is Down Syndrome Awareness Month and thus, it’s no better time than now to support Buddy Walk Kewanee.
