Cambridge Man Gets Four Years in Prison for Threatening to Blow Up Henry County Courthouse

The 23-year-old man from Cambridge that threatened to blow up the Henry County Courthouse got four years in prison from a plea deal on September 27, 2023.  The State added Count 2 for Making a False Terrorist Threat (Class 1 Felony) and dismissed Count one for Making a Terrorist Threat (Class X Felony).  Dimitris Roush was sentenced to fours years in the Illinois Department of Corrections (IDOC), 6 months Mandatory Supervised Released and a $75 fine. Probation was revoked for a 2020 plea deal for Criminal Damage to Property.  Roush was sentenced to three years in IDOC, 6 months Mandatory Supervised Release and a $75 fine for the previous deal.  The sentences run concurrent to each other, meaning they are served at the same time.  Mr. Roush threatened to blow up the court house during a phone call with a nurse.  The Henry County Sheriff’s Office was made aware of the threat and evacuated the court house and arrested Mr Roush.  Mr. Roush must report to the court house within 180 days of release from IDOC to make payment arrangements on fines and assessments.

On April 11, 2023, the Henry County Sheriff’s Office evacuated the courthouse after threats were made by a male subject over the phone to blow up the courthouse.   The Henry County Sheriff’s Office took extra precautions for public safety during the evacuation.  As a result of the investigation, Dimitris J Roush, 23, of Cambridge was arrested and charged with Disorderly Conduct and making Terrorist Threats.
