City of Galesburg Issues Guidelines Regarding Political Signs

The City of Galesburg wants residents to know that while the City does not regulate outdoor political campaign signs, there are some important things to know about the placement of signs. Specifically, the City of Galesburg is reminding citizens that Political signs need to be placed in a fashion that does not block clear line of sight drivers. Property owners may display signs for their candidate of choice at any time if the placement is on private property and not on the city right-of-way. Signs found on City Terraces, Right of Ways, or those that block line of sight in general or line of sight on corners for vehicles or pedestrians may be relocated to private property or simply removed.
