    Hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat illnesses.
    ADDITIONAL DETAILS
    Heat impacts will be worsened by several consecutive days of sweltering temperatures. Additionally, there will be little relief overnight with near record warm lows forecast in the mid to upper 70s.
    PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS
    Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. To reduce risk during outdoor work, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration recommends scheduling frequent rest breaks in shaded or air conditioned environments. Anyone overcome by heat should be moved to a cool and shaded location. Heat stroke is an emergency! Call 9 1 1.

City of Geneseo Announces Intermittent Road Closures

The City of Geneseo has announced that there will be intermittent road closures starting Monday, October 16th. According to the City of Geneseo, Water Main Replacement is the reason for the temporary closures on Oakwood Avenue from East First Street to East North Street and 2nd Street from Oakwood Avenue to S. State Street. From today, October 16th, 2023 until October 27th, 2023, roads will be closed intermittently in these areas to accommodate workers in putting in new water mains. Those who drive these areas regularly should be prepared to find alternate routes.
