The City of Kewanee is informing residents of potential power outages due to work being done by Ameren Illinois. The work will be taking place on Sunday, April 16th, 2023 in the area of West 1st Street, West 2nd Street, and Central Boulevard in Kewanee. There is no word on exactly how many residents may experience power disruptions due to the work being done by Ameren. We do know that the alley directly behind the Kewanee Public Library will be closed at this time as work will specifically taking place in this spot on Sunday. Resident are asked to avoid that area to allow room for Ameren employees room to work safely. The City of Kewanee posted a Google map on Social Media showing areas that may be affected by outages on Sunday. Find a link to that here. Ameren has been working on Kewanee’s power infrastructure this Spring.
