    Peak afternoon heat indices around 105 degrees expected.
    WHERE
    Portions of north central, northwest, and west central Illinois, east central, northeast, and southeast Iowa, and northeast Missouri.
    WHEN
    From noon Saturday to 8 PM CDT Monday.
    IMPACTS
    Hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat illnesses.
    ADDITIONAL DETAILS
    Heat impacts will be worsened by several consecutive days of sweltering temperatures. Additionally, there will be little relief overnight with near record warm lows forecast in the mid to upper 70s.
    PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS
    Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke.

City of Kewanee Releases Map of Planned Street Repairs in October

The City of Kewanee has released a map of streets that are expected to be repaired in the month of October. In annonuncement on Social Media, the City stated that Oil and Chip work, Asphalt Repair, and rebuilding and regrading work will occur on several Kewanee streets during the month of October.

The City of Kewanee has faced criticism from a vocal number of Kewanee residents over the need for street repair in the past few months. The release of the Street Repair map has received some praise as it demonstrates that the work is being scheduled to be done and it demonstrates some transparency in the street repair plans and process.
