A Colona man is in custody of the Henry County Jail after he allegedly battered two people who stopped to see if he needed help. On October 20, 2023, Colona Police were dispatched to a fight in progress and arrived to find two battery victims and multiple witnesses at the scene.  The two victims identified Jordan Jones, 40, of Colona as the suspect.  Jones was arrested and charged with multiple counts of Aggravated Battery.  The investigation found that Jordan Jones stopped the vehicle driven by the victims in the road.  Jordan Jones began banging on the car so the two victims got out of the vehicle to see if Jones needed help.  Jones immediately began battering the male victim and then battered the female victim when she attempted to assist the male victim.  A Detention Hearing is scheduled for October 25, 2023, at 2 PM and a Preliminary Hearing is scheduled for October 30, 2023, at 2 PM.  UPDATE:  Mr. Jones was determined to pose a real threat to others by the court  and will remain in custody.

Jordan Jones is charged with two Counts of Aggravated Battery/Victim 60+ (Class 3 Felony), four Counts of Aggravated Battery/Public Place (Class 3 Felony) and Aggravated Battery/Greater Bodily Harm (Class 3 Felony).
