Richard McDonald:  Richard McDonald remains in custody of the Henry County Jail on a $150,000 (10%) bond.  At the Final Pre-Trial on Tuesday, Attorney Lance Camp submitted a Motion for a Psych Evaluation for Richard McDonald.  Judge Colby Hathaway approved the motion.  Continued to February 21, 2023, at 9 AM for Status.  McDonald is charged with Making Terrorist Threats (Class X Felony), two violations the Sexual Offender Registration Act (Class 3 Felonies).  Read more here.

Austin Norberg:  Austin Norberg remains in the Henry County Jail on a $300,000 (10%) bond across all open cases.  Defense Attorney Camp said there is a pretty significant breakdown in the Attorney-Client relationship.  Attorney Camp requested to withdraw from the case and assign a new Public Defender, Mr. Camp suggested appointing Attorney Aaron Dyer.  Attorney Camp said they are are not agreeing on the path the case should go.  Judge Hathaway granted the withdrawal and appointed Attorney Aaron Dyer as Public Defender.  A continuance was granted to February  23, 2023, at 9 AM.

Norberg is charged with (22CF205) – Armed Violence with a Category II Weapon (Class X Felony), Aggravated Battery to a Peace Officer (Class 2 Felony), Unlawful Possession of a Weapon by a Felon (Class 2 Felony), Aggravated Battery/Great Bodily Harm (Class 3 Felony) and Aggravated Battery (Class 2 Felony) for the incident where he pulled a knife when Kewanee Police Officers were attempting to arrest him on a warrant.  (22CF23) – He is charged with Obstruct Justice (Class 4 Felony) from a January arrest.  (22CF24) – He is charged with Possession of Meth <5 Grams (Class 3 Felony) and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia (Class A Misdemeanor).  Read more here.

Michael Anderton: Defense Attorney Bruce Carmen said they are close to a deal with Assistant State’s Attorney Reynolds.  A Final Pre-Trial is scheduled for Febuary 21, 2022, at 9 AM.  Michael Anderton is charged with Reckless Discharge of a Firearm (Class 4 Felony), Reckless Conduct ( Class A Misdemeanor) and Possession of a Firearm without a valid FOID (Class A Misdemeanor).  Read more on the case here.

Christopher Evans:  Christopher Evans remains in custody on a $75,000 (10%) bond.  Defense Attorney Dyer is working to obtain transcripts and videos from the Theft Jury Trial.  Judge Colby Hathaway wants to get a Sentencing Hearing on the courts calendar.  A PSI has been completed.  A Sentencing Hearing scheduled for March 17, 2023, at 2 PM.  The Jury Pre-Trial is scheduled for February 23, 2023, at 9 AM. Read details on the case here.  Christopher Evans is charged with Failure to Report an Injury Accident (Class 2 Felony), Aid/ABET/Possession of a Stolen Vehicle (Class 2 Felony), Aggravated Fleeing (Class 4 Felony) and Resisting a Peace Officer (Class A Misdemeanor).
