Austin Norberg:  Austin Norberg remains in the Henry County Jail on a $300,000 (10%) bond across all open cases.  Defense Attorney Camp said he has questions for the Illinois Department of Corrections regarding case 2022CF205.  Attorney Camp said he hasn’t had the opportunity to review the video evidence from 22CF205 with Mr. Norberg and requested a continuance to meet with Norberg and get answers from IDOC.  Assistant State’s Attorney Reynolds objected to the continuance and indicated the State is ready for Trial.   A continuance was granted over objection from the State to January 17, 2022, at 9 AM.

Norberg is charged with (22CF205) – Armed Violence with a Category II Weapon (Class X Felony), Aggravated Battery to a Peace Officer (Class 2 Felony), Unlawful Possession of a Weapon by a Felon (Class 2 Felony), Aggravated Battery/Great Bodily Harm (Class 3 Felony) and Aggravated Battery (Class 2 Felony) for the incident where he pulled a knife when Kewanee Police Officers were attempting to arrest him on a warrant.  (22CF23) – He is charged with Obstruct Justice (Class 4 Felony) from a January arrest.  (22CF24) – He is charged with Possession of Meth <5 Grams (Class 3 Felony) and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia (Class A Misdemeanor).  Read details of his case here.

Cole Carlson:  Cole Carlson remains in the Henry County Jail on a $50,000 (10%) bond.  Attorney Dyer waived a Preliminary Hearing and Formal Arraignment on behalf of Cole Carlson.  Carlson entered a Plea of Not Guilty and demand for a Jury Trial.  A Jury Pre-Trial is scheduled for January 19, 2023, at 9 AM.

Aggravated Assault (Class 4 Felony), Resisting a Peace Officer (Class 4 Felony), Resisting a Peace Officer (Class A Misdemeanor), Criminal Damage to Property (Class A Misdemeanor), Aggravated Fleeing and Eluding (Class 4 Felony), Driving on a Suspended Driver’s License (Class A Misdemeanor), Reckless Driving (Class A Misdemeanor) 3 counts of Speeding 35+ MPH Over Speed Limit (Class A Misdemeanors) and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia (Class A Misdemeanor) 2022CF344.  Carlson is charged with Aggravated Fleeing to Elude (Class 4 Felony), Attempt to Flee and Elude (Class A Misdemeanor) and Reckless Driving (Class A Misdemeanor) 2022CF347.   Read more on the case here

Nathanael Wood:  Nathanael Wood pleaded guilty to Count 2 of Possession of a weapon by a Felon (Class 3 Felony) and the remaining counts will be dismissed by the State.  Wood got 3 years in the Illinois Department of Corrections, $75 fine plus assessments, Credit for Time Served at $5/day and no Mandatory Supervised Release required.  Nathanael Wood, having previously been convicted of a Felony in Wyoming, was in possession of a shotgun on July 5, 2022.  The Henry County Sheriff’s Office received a call regarding a suspicious vehicle parked in the Lion’s Den parking lot and arrested Nathanael Wood and Mary Gear for possession of weapons, drugs and a stolen vehicle.  Judge Terry Patton found that Wood qualifies for a full waiver of waivable assessments.  Wood was remanded to begin serving his sentence in IDOC.

Nathanael Wood was charged with Possession of Methamphetamine/under 5 grams (Class 3 Felony), 2 counts of Possession/Use of a Firearm by a Felon (Class 3 Felony), 2 counts of Aggravated Unlawful Use of a Weapon (Class 4 Felony).
