Richard McDonald: Richard McDonald remains in custody of the Henry County Jail on a $150,000 (10%) bond. The paperwork for the Mental Health Evaluation has been completed but the evaluation has not been completed. Continued to March 20, 2023, at 9 AM for Status. McDonald is charged with Making Terrorist Threats (Class X Felony), two violations the Sexual Offender Registration Act (Class 3 Felonies). Read more here.
William Keller: William Keller remains in custody of the Henry County Jail on a $75,000 (10%) bond. Attorney Camp said they are in negotiations with the State. Attorney Camp made a counter offer to the State today. Continued to March 20, 2022, at 9 AM. Keller is charged with Aggravated Criminal Sexual Abuse – Victim under 13 years of age and Aggravated Criminal Sexual Abuse – Victim is a family member under 18 years of age. Michael Workheiser: Michael Workheiser, 31, of Kewanee will have a Jury Trial on March 2, 2023, at 9 AM. Jury selection begins at 9 AM and the trial will begin following Jury selection. The trial is scheduled for one day. Workheiser is charged with two (2) counts of Aggravated Battery in a Public Place (Class 3 Felony) and Reckless Conduct (Class A Misdemeanor).
Michael Anderton: Michael Anderton accepted a Plea Deal with the State. Anderton plead guilty to Count 1 of Reckless Conduct (Class A Misdemeanor) and the remaining charges dismissed by the State. Anderton received 24 Months Conditional Discharge, 180 days in jail Stayed pending completion of the Conditional Discharge, $1,000 fine plus assessments. Michael Anderton is allowed to travel for work. On September 19, 2022, Mr. Anderton was cleaning a shotgun his father had given him when the weapon accidentally fired out his window and into the window of the house next to him where two children were sitting.
Jeffery Cerda: The State requested a Continuance because the witness was not present. Assistant State’s Attorney Reynolds said the witness could be in court in about 25 minutes but Cerda said he couldn’t wait because he had to work. The Preliminary Hearing is continued to March 6, 2023, at 1 PM. Cerda is charged with Possession of 15<100 Grams of Cocaine (Class 1 Felony) and Manufacture/Deliver 15<100 Grams of Cocaine (Class X Felony). Kewanee Police found approximately 90 grams of Cocaine during a traffic stop on Central Blvd in Kewanee. Read more here.
Brandon Parsons: Brandon Parsons, 26, of Mentor, Ohio, was stopped on Interstate 80 Eastbound at approximately mile marker 27 on January 29, 2023, for no mudflaps on his vehicle. Master Sergeant Sean Veryzer testified at the Preliminary Hearing for the State. Mr. Parsons was the only occupant in the vehicle. Trooper Combs made the traffic stop at 10:45 AM and noticed that Mr. Parsons appeared nervous. Trooper Combs identified Parsons from his Ohio Driver’s License and placed Parsons in his vehicle. Trooper Combs smelled Cannabis on Mr. Parson’s person and called for a K9 to the scene. Master Sergeant Veryzer was the K9 Officer that responded to the traffic stop for a free air sniff by K9 Roman. K9 Roman alerted at the rear of the vehicle. A search of the vehicle found 220 pounds, or over 5000 grams, of cannabis in the vehicle. Parsons told the Trooper’s that he was transporting the load from Iowa to Ohio. Defense Attorney, Stephen Komie, submitted an order to allow him access to the outside of the vehicle for pictures. A Jury Pre-Trial is scheduled for May 18, 2023, at 1 PM. Parsons is charged with Cannabis Trafficking <5000 grams (Class X Felony), Possession with Intent to Deliver Cannabis <5000 grams (Class X Felony) and Possession of Cannabis <5000 grams (Class 1 Felony).
Tyler Stiner: Tyler Stiner, 28, of Bishop Hill remains in custody on a $25,000 (10%) bond. Tyler Stiner originally indicated he would hire private counsel but requested the Public Defender be appointed at his Preliminary Hearing on February 21st. Stiner said he intends to remain in custody until they let him go. The Preliminary Hearing is continued to March 6, 2023, at 1 PM. Stiner is charged with Violation of OP (Class 4 Felony). A Petition to Revoke Probation was submitted for the prior Violation of OP Plea in December 2022.
