Heather Hartman: Heather Hartman, 30, of Galva plead guilty to Domestic Battery for strangling her juvenile child at a residence in Kewanee. On July 13, 2023, the juvenile child told DCFS that his mother had chocked him earlier in the day in Kewanee. The minor child showed the DCFS worker how his mother cupped her hands around his neck. Officers noted bruising and scratches on the child’ neck. Hartman was charged with three counts of Domestic Battery for chocking her minor child and lifting him off the floor by is neck. Hartman was sentenced to 24 Months Probation, 60 days in the Henry County Jail with Day-for-Day credit and credit for time served, $500 fine plus assessments, $500 Rule 18 Fee (Public Defender Fee), submit DNA Sample and pay $250 Fee, Anger Management and Domestic Abuse evaluation and recommended treatment, 30 hours community service and comply with DCFS. Ms. Hartman was released on Thursday after the Plea was accepted.
