Christopher Richardson: Christopher Richardson, 18, of Kewanee accepted a plea deal for battery of a pregnant woman. Richardson plead guilty to Aggravated Battery/Pregnant/Handicapped (Class 3 Felony) and Criminal Damage to Property <$500 (Class A Misdemeanor) on June 15, 2023. The charges allege that on April 27th Richardson pushed and kicked a woman he knew was pregnant and admitted to the battery to police. The property damage charges allege that on January 15th Richardson broke a window of a residence in Kewanee. Richardson got 24 Months Probation, 60 days in jail (jail sentence stayed pending compliance), Day-for-day Credit, Credit for time served, submit blood and saliva samples, anger management evaluation and recommended treatment and pay fines and non-waivable assessments. The State said the victim is in agreement with the plea deal. For the property damage charge, Richardson got 12 months of court supervision, fines and assessments and is to have no contact with the victim or residence.
Barry Cox: Barry Cox of Galva remains in custody on a $250,000 (10%) bond. The Defense made a counter-offer to the State and are waiting to hear back. Jose Janecua: Jose Janecua failed to appear at his Pre-Trial. According to notes on his file, Janecua called the courthouse on his May Pre-Trial and was told his hearing was that day. Jeremy Colombani: Jeremy Colombani, 16, remains in custody of Mary Davis in Galesburg on a $500,000 (10%) bond. Defense Attorney Joseph Borsberry said his office has received some discovery. He still needs to get more discovery from the State. Mr. Borsberry said that Colombani has a dental appointment in Peoria in June. The State objected to him being being released for the appointment because of the nature of the charges. Judge Terry Patton said he would need specific information about the appointment before ordering the Henry County Sheriff’s Office to transport Colombani. Mr. Borsberry will need to submit a written motion with specific information to the court. The Jury Pre-Trial is scheduled for July 13, 2023, at 1 PM.
