Preliminary Hearings September 11, 2023:
Lucas Owens: Lucas Owens, 41, of Rock Island remains in custody on a $75,000 Bond. Owens waived his Preliminary Hearing and formal arraignment. The State added Count 5 for Aggravated DUI/Lic Suspended or Revoked (Class 4 Felony). Owens waived a reading of the charges and penalties for the new charge. A Jury Pre-Trail is scheduled for October 12, 2023, at 9 AM. Owens is charged with Criminal Damage to Property (Class A Misdemeanor), Burglary (Class 2 Felony), Resisting a Peace Officer (Class B Misdemeanor), Aggravated DUI (Class 4 Felony, and Aggravated Battery to a Police Officer (Class 2 Felony).
Bradley Kelly: Bradley Kelly of Kewanee was found Not Guilty for the abduction of his biological child by a Jury on August 31, 2023. Kelly was arrested that day for an incident that reportedly happened in Cambridge where he is charged with battery and aggravated battery. Kelly posted bond and was released on September 5th. Kelly waived his Preliminary Hearing and Formal Arraignment on September 11th. A Jury Pre-Trial is scheduled for October 12, 2023, at 1 PM. Kelly is charged with two (2) counts of Aggravated Battery/Public Place (Class 3 Felony), Communicate/Detain Witness (Class 3 Felony) and two (2) counts of Battery/Makes Physical Contact (Class A Misdemeanor).
Justin Kirchner: Justin Kirchner remains in custody on a $500,000 (10%) bond. The Defense requested a continuance because two “Alabi Witnesses” attended the Preliminary Hearing and Mr. Paulson needs time to speak with the witnesses. The State objected to another continuance but one more continuance was granted. A Preliminary Hearing is scheduled for September 25, 2023, at 2 PM. Kirchner is charged with Aggravated DUI causing a Death (Class 2 Felony), DUI Any Amount of Drug (Class A Misdemeanor) plus traffic tickets for case 2022CF301. Kirchner is charged with Possession of Meth <5 Grams (Class 3 Felony), Driving on Suspended License (Class A Misdemeanor), Plus traffic citations for case 2023CF92. Barry Cox: Barry Cox of Galva remains in custody on a $250,000 (10%) bond. Barry Cox was not approved for entry into drug court. All cases are going to Final Pre-Trial but negotiations are ongoing. A Final Pre-Trial is scheduled for September 25, 2023, at 9 AM. Barry Cox is charged with Possession of Meth 5<15 Grams (Class 2 Felony), Possession of a Weapon by a Felon (Class 3 Felony), Bomb/Bombshell/Grenade (Class 3 Felony) and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia (Class A Misdemeanor) for case 2023CF104. Nicole Daulton: Nicole Daulton remains in custody on a $500,000 (10%) bond. The co-defendant case is still pending. The Jury Pre-Trial is continued to November 9, 2023, at 9 AM. Nicole Daulton is charged with three (3) counts of Permitting the Sexual Abuse of a Child (Class 1 Felony). Daulton is charged for allegedly allowing Melcon DeJesus to sexually abuse her minor child. Roxanne Glazier: The Defense said they are waiting for testing on the gun. The Defense previously requested the evidence be sent to the Illinois State Police for analysis. The Defense referenced a different case where ISP said they can analyze defense evidence. State’s Attorney Runty said she will reach out to the ISP regarding cross testing of firearms for the Defense. Glazier requested permission to move to Scott County, Iowa, for lower rent and was granted the move and provided the court with her current address and advised to get her new address to the clerk. Jeremy Colombani: Jeremy Colombani remains in custody of Mary Davis in Galesburg on a $500,000 (10%) bond. The Defense said there may be actions on the results of DNA testing once the results are back. The Jury Pre-Trial is scheduled for October 12, 2023, at 1 PM. Colombani is charged with two (2) counts of First Degree Murder (Class M Felony), Aggravated Battery/Great Bodily Harm (Class 3 Felony), Obstructing Justice/Destroy Evidence (Class 4 Felony) and Mob Action (Class 4 Felony) for case 23CF84.
